A very interesting read. It proves a point that information and openness really contribute to an healthy and responsible society.

I spoke to some young adults about the "Growth and Development" program they (and I as a teacher) had been involved in at primary school. Their reaction was that they felt they had learnt more, especially when they spoke to friends who hadn't had the program. This, as much as the course, had given them the confidence to make decisions related to sex, rather than go with the flow.

I think that the program does not necessarily work because of the information it provides, but rather by creating an open atmosphere where sex and sex related issues can be discussed openly between students, students and teachers, students and parents etc. Within such an atmosphere, children become more informed, more confident, and as a result, I believe, More responsible.

I have always believed that open-minded people always have the most advantage over close-minded people. This is proof of that.
