Go to source to sign petition. We should torture people who are against torturing terrorists. I also don’t see how people can act like they oppose the specific applications we’ve been told about. This is the liberal doctrine of always siding with the scum of the earth and allowing innocent people to be murdered in cold blood. You see, they are worried that they will get caught and want to be treated with kid gloves, being the scum of the earth. Also, they are so worried about waterboarding, which can be done hundreds of times on the same person with no physical ill effects, yet they are willing to kill a nine month old baby in the process of being born. Of course this baby is the most innocent person on the face of the ... Right on! clip-on-tie Will do. Signed the petition although I don't think we should let this wannabe fascist and neocon warmongers off the hook as a lot of proposals would allow. We don't need to reinvent the wheel: torture is a crime, against U.S. and international law and when someone violates a law, they're suppose to get arrested, have charges filed, go on trial, etc. If guilty they go to jail, if not they go free. But suddenly the media and many politicians would like us to believe there is a debate about what's torture or if torture is okay!? And we're suppose debate how to now deal with violations of the law!? There are links to more gripping info about this, at: http://www.americancitizenstogether.org... COT and Jay are either unclear about the law--or want to abrogate the law-or want to denigrate the constitution-or don't support the Geneva Convention-or don't yet understand the definition of torture-or are so terrified of the terrorists that they can't see the dangerous precedent they are happy to support. This has nothing to do with democrats-many many Republicans, Bush state department employees, Ronald Reagan, John McCain, John Warner, Lindsey Graham, General Petraeus, military officers, ministers, CIA, FBi, conservatives, and constitutionalists find the legal attempts to justify unconstitutional, treaty breaking behavior disappointing to say the least. I can give you links to every one of these peoples statements if you like. @deb2012 - very good point! At least 25 people have been murdered while in US custody and hundreds have died, during or after interrogations. Waterboarding is NOT the only way detainees are being brutalized and tortured. That anyone would support torture of any kind, is simply horrific to think about. http://thinkprogress.org/2008/06/18/ex-state-dept-official-hundreds-of-detainees-died-in-us-custody-at-least-25-murdered/ |
