BobbyRutan says: More: Recently named counselor to the Senate Republican leader, Martinez has been a factor in GOP leadership meetings. As the lone Hispanic among Senate Republicans and, briefly, as chair of the Republican National Committee, he tried to move his party toward adopting a policy of comprehensive immigration reform, without success. On Thursday, he was one of only nine Republicans to vote to confirm Judge Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court, the first Hispanic to serve on the high court. Republicans would really be in trouble if Democrats sucked marginally less. Course, if they sucked less, they wouldn’t be Democrats. It seemed the presidency would give Obama more material for his next autobiography, but he might come off better if he left it out. But POPPED for demonstrating that it isn't the people you care about, it's the POWER. See the difference? Probably not. Rock on Bobby. Clip-on, apparently all you care about are inane responses that are trivial at best. Sure, I don't care about people. I would have preferred George Bush and Vlad Cheney to be in office so we could really experience an economic depression. This isn't about power. It's about the electorate realizing that the rebubbacan party only cares about southern white males. Read the article. Certainly he doesn't care for reality. Martinez like some other Republicans have seen the rise of the whacked-out Far Right in his party and decided to bail before it consumed him. It's great to see. There are millions of us who would like to see the Republican party driven into extinction. |
