Looks like Vista is as infectious as Windows has ever been. I suppose it pays to become more well versed on the capability, and mechanisms of computer viruses, and watch out for them in addition to relying on antivirus programs. If my programs have found a virus trojan etc, I can't delete it until I've found out what I can about it. I don't remember having any real trouble since I started using firefox, but I'd be surprised if any could compete with some of the operator errors I've had to fix. It can be hard to fix something when the answer can be found on line, and the computer won't boot. You do save a 'boot disk' to CD right? I think you have to set your bios config for this too. It's been a long time.... sorry if I'm not more exact. Just make sure you can boot your computer from a CD. I 've been using Linux for the last 6 months, but there was a steep learning curve. You can dual boot, but linux overwrites the mbr, and installs a file called GRUB GRand Unified Bootloader, and It took a few months to work out how important it was to know just the basics.Typically reading the help as a last resort rather than first. Linux has plenty of live disks to help, including the ones that installed the system but I also had trouble because I had wireless and windows wireless card that needed a 'wrapper' for the driver so linux could use it. The first time when installing I had a grub error and had to reinstall both systems. I learned long ago to keep anything I wanted to save on an e... @pokkets I use Firefox but even my Norton seems to have problems updating new threats drat. A fellow green activist says she thinks SA Govt uses "echelon"to spy on her activities but cant tell for sure.Are you aware of this program and how do you know if it is embedded in your PC? |
