Just FYI, in 1994 a settler named Baruch Goldstein walked into a mosque and killed 29 Muslim worshippers. In the course of the massacre he was beaten to death. To some Israelies, Goldstein is a martyr and his gravesite serves as a shrine.

Let's not pretend that one group has a monopoly on the "culture of death" in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

I don't know if that's true though. I do know that there have been several incidents where IDF soldiers and Israeli settlers have killed or abused Palestinians and they were either not prosecuted or, if they were prosecuted, they were slapped on the wrist. Just look at any human rights report on Israel/Palestine.
