Yes, because people all over the world fighting for their freedom can relate to her and that will give them hope and strength. They really can't relate to Obama and they know he can't relate to them. If anything, this makes them feel more isolated and hopeless. The stronger ones more than likely feel that the peace prize is some kind of a joke, something the elite use to try and convence the masses that they actually care.

Yes, but only in a world not politically driven.

From the will of Alfred Nobel regarding the peace prize:
"one part (of the Nobel awards) to the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses."

In the current atmosphere of "anyone but.." in reference to Obama having been awarded this, a few observations are apparent, one is, no matter that people brush this award off as being "unimportant" and "meaning nothing" it shows that most think that it is or the issue would not be posted here and everywhere else, and that if people really felt that way, would they wish for Neda to have been granted this?...

"Where ignorance is our master, there is no possibility of real peace.”

I know exactly where you are coming from sahara, the clip and everything......

I always get a kick out of people who defend the elite, as if they're one of them or are stupid enough to think they are going to get any respect from them.

If the Peace Prize could be awarded posthumously, I think Gandhi should have it.
'
Gandhi was nominated in 1937, 1938, 1939, 1947 and, finally, a few days before he was murdered in January 1948. The omission has been publicly regretted by later members of the Nobel Committee.

He would have been an excellent choice.
