WHAT!!! You like Mrs. Palin?? We're working to get our underdog GOP Conservative (Marco Rubio) the nomination over Gov. Crist. The Republican Party chose Crist as *their* candidate and I'm hoping that the grassroots efforts will prevail. Crist is no Conservative. I love Palin. Where have you been? I've talked about her as a vp candidate here at clipmarks almost 2 years ago...long before anyone else knew who she was. I love Palin and if she succeeds in killing the Republican Party, the I will lover her more. Willhelm has a crush on Sarah...hahaha! (kidding) Sarah rocks. I would love to meet her someday and give a giant hug....I'm serious. Ok...sorry. But I don't, necessarily, want the Republican Party 'killed'. I want it to be revived. I guess you are saying that that isn't possible. Haven't we learned that 3rd Party candidates make a mess of things? That is my only concern. The Party needs to be sifted and all the so-called Rinos shoved out to form *their* own centrist party which to me seems like the old Democrat Party. The Democratic Party was once a third party. They were initially called the the Democratic-Republican Party after the nations founding. Then, there were the whigs...not really a third party, but a re-established party. Then, in the mid-1800s, the Republican party was a third party. I don't see anywhere in history where third parties make a mess of things, jatfla. Third parties renew us. What we have now is a system controlled by two parties who are putting on a puppet show. I support a 2 party system over multiple parties, I just happen to think parties should be destroyed by the electorate when they become deadly. Why is it you care so much about that (R) or the word 'republican'. Patriots... Do we have enough time for a 3rd Party to emerge and develop? I don't care what letter is behind their names...just represent the traditional, conservative values that have made us secure and strong. We'll always have enough time. The question is do have the will to endure the temporary hardship for a constitutional rebirth. That's where I worry that you are wrong. The time issue. I enjoy & learn from your clips. :~) Jatfla, All I'm saying is that it is silly to worry about time. All you can do is what you can do. The time issue really isn't in our hands anyway. Sarah baracuda is the only reason that I even voted in '08 Just read that Sen. Rick Santorum as come out in support of Hoffman too. I'm worried about the movement toward a 3rd party. The way I look at it, the Republican party is MY party and it's simply been invaded by a bunch of statist lefties. I'd prefer to vote the lefties out of the party in favor of conservative replacements. The longer the Democrats stay in power, the closer we get to turning into France. Some things, once done, are nearly impossible to undo. Take the National Healthcare System of England for example. The NHS is the 3rd largest employer in the world. So many people are employed by the NHS that it's political suicide for any politician to campaign against it. Instead, each party there just argues that THEY can spend the taxpayer's money on ... The problem in America is loyalty to party above country. I just have to admit...I don't get it. I don't understand loyalty to a party. It actually sickens me. The last thing we need to do is weaken the Republican party by dividing its power. The last thing you need is to be manipulated by a progressive party that wants to use you because they know you have nowhere else to turn. Face it, the Republicans are the party of Lindsey Graham and John McCain. We had a Primary in Tennessee, where there were 4 candidates..3 were conservative and 1 was progressive. The party establishment supported the Progressive and Bob Corker was elected. You people that believe in the (R) are the people that will stay an (R) if the parties shift and the Dems become the libertarian/conservative party that they have been in the past, while the (R)s becom... I, too, see the Republican Party as having been hijacked by pleasers who, at all costs, want to win at the price of their integrity and foundational principles. I Want to take it back rather than start a 3rd Party. Time will tell. And this may be the time-frame of making that determination. Sorry, I wouldn't pay a penny to save the Republican Party. The Republican Party has some good people in it, but it is now more corrupt than the Dem party and it is not going to get any better. I just don't understand the idea of putting a party ahead of one's country. I just don't get it. This is much more common among Dems. They are more predisposed to herd mentality. But among people who are supposed to be clear-minded and thoughtful....? I just don't get it. Republicans have done to the word 'republican' what Liberals have done to the word 'liberal'. I would rather fix the word 'liberal' than fix the word 'republican'. You can have them....and you will continue to get what you deserve. |
