This is what bothers me: Why are liberal democrats so reluctant to oppose the worst abusers of women in the world - Islamic Fundamentalist terrorist countries and organizations? Liberal democrats claim to be the "party of women," but they fought Bush and the Republicans every step of the way on disarming Iraq and other countries who sponsor terrorism or harbor terrorists. Even though millions of women have been liberated from the oppression under which they have lived as a result of "regime change," the liberal democrats continually advocate appeasement and containment which would do nothing to free the millions living under severe oppression and terror. I think one always has a moral obligation to speak out against oppression clip on. However, I do not believe the Iraq war was any other than a play for power for oil and the American people were deceived into it. If we invaded Iraq for their oil, we wouldn't be paying record prices for oil right now. The "blood for oil" claim is ridiculous. If America wanted to use its military might to seize Iraq's oil, we could have seized Iraq's oil fields and kept them with the half million troops who were deployed during the Gulf War. This notion is ludicrous because all evidence contradicts this claim. Is there something I'm missing? Are there some facts I'm not aware of? I'm asking that seriously because I'll be the first one to say I'm wrong. I just don't see the evidence. As far as the moral oppression, I agree with you, which leads me back to my original question. Why are liberal Democrats so reluctant to condemn the worst abusers of women in the world? The conservatives on this site are the ones condemning radical islam. The atheists on this site seem to overlook islam and condemn the 70 year christian ladies who drive their 40 year cars to church on Sunday morning? What's up with that? Give me an instance in which the liberal Democrats on this site stand behind the oppression of women. Well Clip On, They wanted no trade barriers and their particular bitch weren't their bitch no more and didn't show enough respect. So he had to die. Not to mention Halliburton and other well-connected companies could get their greedy hands on big, lucrative pieces of the Iraq destruction/reconstruction pie. It was also done to build Bush up in the publics and more importantly HIS eyes as a war leader over the inflated bogeyman of Baghdad. And last, but not least, the all important FEAR factor in prolonging indefinitely the so-called war on terror as a pretext for more favors for big business under the slick line that we are all under attack. So don't buy into that baloney that th... |
