I afraid to say times have changed for me and I haven't seen any of them yet! Any recommendations from the movie buffs...?

Kore7, I can recommend The Departed. It was one of the best movies I saw this year. Engaging story that made you think, but didn't make you crazy. Fine acting. I do believe my exact words were, "It's going to take quite a bit for me to start liking Matt Damon again." His character was just so unlikeable.

The ending had a surprise for me too, but not a gimmicky one.

Hey, Mousie. Thanks for the input. I really need to catch that one. I can tell you that Matt Damon was the best thing about The Good Shepherd, though his character is not altogether likable in that either...

I too can vouch for The Departed, but I think [Inside Man[/i] is even better. I don't think An Inconvenient Truth belongs on this list. I don't know about the seven other ones on this list. The other great 2006 movie for me was A Scanner Darkly.
