Anomaly100 says: World Health Organization Director-General Margaret Chan says the outbreak involves "an animal strain of the H1N1 virus, and it has pandemic potential." The CDC says two flu drugs, Tamiflu and Relenza, seem effective against the new strain. Drug-maker Roche says the company is prepared to quickly deploy its drug stockpile if requested. As many as 68 people may have died of swine flu in Mexico, although the strain has been confirmed in just 20 of the deaths. More than a thousand others are sick. Mexico City is suspending all public events for 10 days as officials try to contain the outbreak. There's something wrong here because even though the strain has animal DNA, it also has human DNA as reported by the Center for Disease Control yesterday. It's that combination that makes humans so susceptible. It's also a brand new strain of virus meaning there is no vaccine for it and won't be for several months. Now either the CDC is dead wrong, which is rare, or the WHO is lying through their teeth, which is not so rare. I'll bet a bunch of these idiots have gotten together and decided that the worse case scenario for them would be for everyone to panic so they're going to feed us a bunch of lies. Yes, I know, you think I'm being paranoid but if the world ever comes to an end, it will be... A few days ago he was blathering about secession, now he's whining for help. It's easy to condemn Washington until you need the resources only a government can provide. It's a good thing he didn't make good on his suggestion - those export tarriffs on strategic medical supplies can be a real bitch, especially when hostile trade partnerships are involved. I know just what you mean Jorjor, I'm a Michigander and we have 13% unemployment rate because Americans for the last 20 or so years thought it was cool to buy foreign cars. Not to mention how our Government has given over $1 trillion to the bankers and hardly anything to the auto industry plus Obama fired GM's President which is clearly overstepping his authority. Then there was that nastiness about the DNC having the balls to tell us we can't vote, but you know what? Thats ok because we have something most of the states don't have. For that matter most of the world don't have. It's called FRESH WATER. Yup, thirst can be a real bitch. Something you might also be interested in. Since our fin... What is Gov. Perry doing? I thought he though independence was the way to go? Now suddenly he wants Uncle Sam's help? Ah teh ironing! Strange how bad karma will kick your ass every time. Now, I don't mean the people that are ill, but Perry has it coming. What a dolt! Doh!! Chestnut: I've heard it's beautiful there. What do you mean about the DNC telling you not to vote? Grrr! |
