foxyarse says:
In 1882 President Arthur signed into federal law the Chinese Exclusion Act. Chinese immigrant labor was the infrastructure backbone of the 19th century California Gold Rush, but by the 1880s a significant economic downturn increased competition and turned up animosity. Fueled by scarcity-stoked fear, nativists pushed an anti-immigration agenda, culminating in the 1882 Act that excluded Chinese workers from entering the United States.

In 1943 this act was repealed.

This is just another example of why this is the greatest nation on Earth. No nation has more tolerance and racial diversity. Sure, there is still racism. I experience it regularly. Racism is not unique to America. It is a human flaw. The tolerance of the American society is unmatched in World history. If not for Democrats who so casually race-bait, racially suppress, cry racism so casually, and practice certain modern-day forms of slavery, then this might just be a paradise of acceptance and diversity.

We also have the Democratic Party to thank for slowing the progress of racial harmony since the Civil War to the present day. Thanks, Republicans for beginning the anti-slavery movement, freeing the slaves, and passing the Civil Rights Act. All done with Democratic Party opposition.

Some seems to have forgotten who was President when the Voting Rights Act and the Civil Rights Act was passed, as well as the President that ordered the Armed Forces desegregated.

Oh and the President who created and exploited the Southern Strategy.

But yeah, please wallow in your American exceptionalism.

foxyarse, as a typical liberal you mouth off without knowledge. Did you know that Kenstipe is black? Do you think he is racist against his own people?

So? He can be ignorant. That is a condition that exists irrelevant of race or ethnicity. And there is the matter of self-loathing.

Someone can cut and paste from a dictionary! Doesn't seem help when they don't actually understand how it applies to the ongoing discussion. Nice try though.
