Obama's advisor stated that there was a way (no info on the cost) that road colors could be changed so they were cooler colors. Reflect light/heat instead of absorbing it. My first thought was, those of us that have to deal with snow and ice, we need those roads to be black to help with the snow and ice melt on the roads. Another bright idea from Washington. This is what comes out of this Administration! While NK just shot off it's 6th missile and Gates says it's "no crisis". Obama issues orders to Israel about settlements and peace talks while Iran sends out warship. Global warming (I personally think it's a hoax) is about #100 on the list of real problems the world is facing. He claims that it will save energy on the cost of cooling by reflecting away the Sun's heat. He neglects to consider that it raises the cost of heating. Bwahahaha. Sure, go ahead, it couldn't hurt, but don't expect me to pay for it. They act as if there is nothing better for them to be doing than coming up with ideas that kindergartners are probably coming up with. It's almost impossible for me to believe these people are being paid big-bucks for their ideas, leadership, and oversight. Where are the brilliant minds that I know are here in America?? Roofs - depends where you live. We live in a warm climate so our roof is a light colour. My mum lives in a colder climate so she has a dark roof. Eskimos live in a frozen land, so they have ...... At one time in the cooler regions people were advised to have black roofs because they absorbed heat and helped reduce the heating bills in winter. |
