How much evidence do we need to get rid of him and his uncle Chenney too?

I'm waiting for his declaration of total global annihilation, which is consistent with his assertion that since Iran could someday restart the program we cannot alter our previously announced intentions of assuring by means of preemptive war that they don't proceed. After all, somebody could someday destroy the earth, so we'd better get after them, too.

I wonder if this is because they'd rather set their sights on somewhere else first? Pakistan maybe?

They're still dangerous while our oil remains underneath their sand.

I recall a quote from Oliver Stone's movie 'Nixon' :

Nixon shuffles back alone, coming to a stop in front of a larger-than-life, full-length oil portrait of JOHN F. KENNEDY. Nixon studies the portrait, pads closer. Looks up.

NIXON
When they look at you, they see what they want to be.
(then)
When they look at me, they see what they are ...

I don't claim to know if the quote if authentic or simply a literary construct. It doesn't really matter. Speaking for myself, having lived through this era, it truly had a mythic feel to it. The mind of the country was given a goal, a purpose. Hope was restored as an element of national identity. We were a people truly united and the future appeared to weigh heavy with promise. Nixon came and our focus shifted away from hope back to the quagmire of unending war. The country's mood soured and a resignation seemed to grip us and turn hope to frustration and despair.

At least that's my take looking back.

In other news, there is no global warming, cigarettes don't cause cancer, John Kerry is a war criminal and a coward, the Clinton administration left the White House a mess, there would be no budget deficit if not for 9/11, the economy is booming, and the WMD in Iraq will be found any day now.

I watched His Holiness Most Reverend Bush at his news conference. Then I watched the analysis afterwards. I might have glimpsed a spark of incredulousness beginning to awaken. Could it be that the trip down the rabbit hole is coming to a close? Is "up" really beginning to mean "up" again? Are "war" and "peace" settled back into their rightful places in the dictionaries of life?

We can dream...

And still Rep. Kucinich's impeachment bill languishes in the Judiciary committee vault because Nancy, Harry Reid (what a wimpy-ass "Leader") and Chairman Conyers have no courage or ANYTHING resembling a sense of responsibility to uphold the Constitution. Cheney, at least, should've been impeached a year ago, and a lot of the BushCo crimes would be out in the open. But NOOOO...The Dems want to wait it out until election'08....What if King St. Dumbfuck George goes bonkers in the meantime with a little prod from his puppetmaster Dirty Dick?

My hopes are that Bush has lost so much credibility that even his staunchest supporters are beginning to feel foolish backing his totally baseless claims and accusations any longer.
