I've always thought Fry was funny and smart. After seeing this, I also respect him immensely for his courage and honesty. It is not easy to be open about having a mental illness, even today.

I love Stephen Fry! I saw his family tree researched on the TV show "Who Do You Think You Are." We get to know him in this show and see his reactions to some shocking family history including extreme poverty and hardship. I think it is very generous of him to speak publicly of his illness and I believe it will help him and others overcome this.
