Because the bulk of computer electronics manufacturing takes place in China the concern is that they have buried into the chipsets a chip which they can remotely activate to access data on any machine with that chip. Essentially it is a hardware back door tied to a software key rather than just a software attack to seek the same data. It is potentially the ultimate spy tool.
