From studying the history and early days of the Israeli state it has always been obvious to me that the extreme right-wing faction represented by Netanyahu and others of his ilk do not represent the majority of Israelis anymore than the neo-cons represent America.

However it certainly is refreshing to see a clip about it here

Thank you ratifar for this most excellent clip. I publish an online zine about Jewish culture, art, lifestyle, politics etc. Even though I spend a vast amount of my time at promoting Judaism on the Web, and paying for most of it out of my own pocket, I have been called an anti-Semite because of my refusal to blindly support every action or priority of the Israeli government. This hurts me to the core, and needless to say, angers me greatly. Reading your clip, and ultimately the entire article brightened my day enormously. What surprised me though, is that the piece ran in such a Conservative publication.

I am not. What many people confuse with conservatism today is a strange mix of neo-liberalism (in foreign affairs) with extreme nativism and more than a touch of dominionist/pseudo-Christian theology, not the American conservatism of old.

Its easy to believe that the whole can be understood by simplistic/holistic views of cultures and peoples, when the realities are richer and far more complex.
