It has nothing to do with 'forgetting' and everything to do with "selective memory" Just as the Iranians seem to "selectively" choose to ignore that the holocaust ever happened. The rest of the world knows it did, so the jokes on them. The sad part is, the more the lie is repeated, the more likely it is to be believed by the unknowing.

Now throw in a totally controlled society (like Afghanistan for instance) where the clerics do not want girls and women to go to school or become educated. That would be bad for thoase in control wouldn't it, because then the people would know they have been lied to their entire lives. ; )
