Kore7 says: The White House Memo using Heston's name and celebrity that helped push through the 1968 Gun Control Act, "by far the most sweeping gun-control measure ever enacted into law in the United States." Asked about his previous support for gun control in a December 1998 interview with Mike Wallace on 60 Minutes, Heston replied, "I've made a number of mistakes in my life, Mike." Just watched Bowling for Columbine for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Heston's blind support for limiting gun regulations was startling to me. Heston's been behind nra (national rifle association) for a long while. I like him as an actor but have had reservations about his efforts in the nra. |
