pokkets says:
We have to start changing the way that we live. This isn't a problem that is specific to any country in particular, but seems to be a 'side effect' of an 'improvement in living standards' across the world. Another case of where while it may be easy to point out a problem, but how this problem can be solved is completely beyond us. Where the intervention of the authorities is pointless, because it involves a change in lifestyle as a personal decision. There is also a general failure to recognize that the problems such as overconsumption of power, energy, and fuel, with obesity, and overeating, and over cultivating, so we will have trouble providing for ourselves, have a character that can be compared to many addictions. Beside the denial that there is a problem. The allusion that it is something beyond our control, yet somehow it will all work out in the end.

A new way to make overweight people feel guilty.

GMC,Chevy,Toyota,Dodge, etc. contribute to global warming.

The CAUSE is the System, . You are just fanning the flames of the EFFECTS of the system on humans.

It's not a question of blame, it's a question of physics. Neither is it question of obesity particularly. It is part of a long list of things that when added together make the position of humanity more untenable. It isn't a question of either or. Over consumption when faced with a glut is a natural behavior. It applies to food, energy, fuel. Anything intrinsically finite. W

I didn't use the word addiction with the intention of being offensive to the obese. I used it because I have been addicted to things that were killing me. I had to make a conscious decision to give up. recognize the problem, remove the focus of the addiction by focusing on a replacement, and take it day by day, and accept the help of those who were prepared to support, and find someone who had solved the same problem when facing the same hurdles , and accept their advice. I had to turn something from a stalemate to a challenge. While it did not seem so clear at the time. It is clear now that if I didn't do something then I would be dead now, and have no-one to blame but myself. We all contri...

It is nice that you had a good support system. Most people don't...Don't assume the solution to your problem will work with others as well. It reminds me of an ex-smoker who goes around brow-beating those who do.

The offence of your clip is in the title.

Cure obesity and you are merely curing a symptom of the problem. If you want change, then change the in...

The title was the title of the article, but I chose to keep it, despite my better judgment. I am inclined to agree with you. My defense of the clip was strictly from my point of view, and I have no right to speak for others. I admit the details in the clip cannot be considered from a scientific point of view, because it involves aspects for which science cannot account. I will leave the clip for another day so you have a chance to read the comment and reply and then I will remove it.

The article is fine. Your comments make alot of sense. The title is what through me, that's all.

Overweight people need to be encouraged, not beat down.

Both change and greatness can be thrust upon us, and both inspire fear of the unknown.

I just thought that I should add that I changed the title, and the comment when I made the last comment, so the previous comments can be taken in context.
