I don't think thats going to happen at least not in the near future. Cluster Bomb Units (CBUs for short) are the poor man answer to destroying a multiplicity of targets, from infantry, to tanks and anything in between. The real risk, besides that posed to civilians of course, is that these unexploded munitions could be reused against the very same people that launched them in the first place. The NVA and the VietCong were very good at turning unexploded American ordnance into mines and booby traps. |
