It's true.

Capitalism works fine for many things, but it is not the only solution.

When it comes to keeping people healthy, clothed, and fed, it is not always the best way.

Capitalism is only interested in any research that will lead directly to marketable products in a 1-5 year span. In fact it prefers to concentrate on improving existing products rather than risking new avenues of research.

But most science is theoretical and long term (taking decades/generations to make breakthroughs that may have little or no technological impact.

I think it's also the confusion between technology which is the science of making tools and general science that drives this misunderstanding.

So, what is the clip advocating, communism? It worked for the Soviet Union, Cuba and North Korea. Would anyone like to live there?

We are a super power and have one of the best standards of living ever for mankind. Then we get a stupid article like this that tells us what we are doing is all wrong.
