"If any one see,s a wrong let him change it with his hands, if he can not then let him change it with his voice,if he can not let him hate it ( the wrong) in his heart, and beyond that their is no faith." saying by Prophet Muhammad. He always treated people with kindness, mercy to mankind, he loved his mother Ami-nah and many women. It is inconceivable that he would have wished to mutilate them. The sexually repressed Mullahs would do better to find paradise on earth than virgins in fairyland. The wealthy and educated Saudis seem to have best of both worlds when abroad, dysfunction of male behaviour abroad is something to go by, if the bird is freed it will return from mutual love I think.

Female circumcision: a tradition steeped in blood

Police are to stage high-profile checks on flights to a number of African states in an attempt to stop young girls being taken abroad to be forcibly mutilated with the consent of their parents.

Research commissioned by the Department of Health suggests that more than 20,000 British girls are at risk of being forced into the agonising procedure, where all or part of their external genitals are cut off and stitched up. Officers will question all adults taking girls on certain flights, believing it is their best chance of ...

Isn't depriving a woman of sexaul satisfaction the whole point of FGM?

It's not like you can say,"hey, you know the effects of this?" And they would say, "OMG, I had no idea. Will reform"

No, this is exactly why they do it, male genetial mutilation, too

My first thought was exactly along the lines of polymath22's, I'm afraid.

If they could show that it had a negative effect on a woman's fertility, it might make a difference. But attitudes towards women and sexuality in Saudi Arabia are barbaric.

Agreed and is male mutilation not for similar reasons in reality. Power.

I agree that female mutilation is far more serious than male mutilation. All mutilation of any child's body must be illegal. In Europe whenever this barbarity is practised, it must be under medical supervision and usually in hospital. Deaths have resulted in Ireland where illegal procedures were performed by visiting witchdoctors on male boys.

I'm non religious but "suffer little children to come on to me" still resonates deeply. Yet I find it difficult to not think [u[sacred[/u] when dealing with pre-teen children.

I'm not religious by any means yet the word sacred comes to mind when thinking of pre-teen children and the protection of the law on any interference with natures plan for the human body.

Might be cool to reflect on why that is Rat.......why that word represents so much here.

While I believe using sacred best encompasses what I feel about a child's body, I in no way believe that there is any 'god' connection. My intellect maybe of such medium par as to able to contemplate a 'god' or it maybe that have no self-delusional ability.

Reverence of nature and the human body have nothing to do with god or religion. My evidence is only partly based on the 'sins' of Christian priests and Jewish Rabbis to desecrate young bodies. Any faith or religion that does not practice the equality of ALL as in love thy neighbour is not worthy of any following even by the deluded, who they claim any intellectual ability.

You only need to look to US politics for the last 8 years for ...
