A million other things also increased at similar rates during those periods. Why not say that TV dinners cause autism? Why not say that a lack of exercise causes autism? They have the science backwards here.

Last year, the birth rate increased in Europe. The stork population also increased in Europe last year. Using the Cornell logic, we should attribute the increase in births to the increase in the stork population.
