I heard about this on the radio (yes, I still listen to the good old radio!). It'll really change how we access and read books, if it takes off. I still don't like e-books. Although, I could be swayed if someone would develop a screen that was easy on the eyes. Indeed, Bookchick. I'm still firmly a paper copy kind of gal. Slate has an article about Sony's e-book device "E Ink". While the author says that the device is easy on the eyes, it is very limited in functionality: The biggest problem with E Ink is that it has a very slow refresh rate—around a second to turn a page. Though that doesn't sound like much, it's quite a pregnant pause: Clicking through the Reader's menus is tedious, and page turns quickly become a bore. Great info jklugman! |
