On the International Women's Day I noticed that Clipmarks finally answered my longstanding requests to somehow support them financially and so when I saw a button called 'order t-shirt' - I instinctively clicked on it. I was instantly (almost instantly) quickly transported to a site called GoodStorm.com, which I thought was great, since recent days clearly showed that New York is no place to be during a bad storm... and was given a number of design choices. As much as I dislike the old motherland, I'm also somewhat familiar with the concept called marketing, so I thought I'd step on my own throat and extinguish my dislike for red colored pieces of cloth for the sake of better promotion possibilities for Clipmarks and ordered, and I quote "1 order of Clipmarks - Wide design for dark shirts Men's Fitted T-Shirt Red Fashion/Fitted".

I'll wait until you stop chuckling at the description above, which makes it sound like I'm buying food or the whole company... Done? Ok, let's move on then. So, reading the other useful info that came immediately once I completed the purchase via that ever popular service called Paypal, it also stated, and I quote again to get the legal terminology down right, "If you selected shipment by SUPER SAVER, the order will arrive via USPS with delivery confirmation. With Super Saver, most orders arrive at your doorstep within 2-6 business days from ship date. In rare cases the USPS can take up to 2 weeks for delivery."

I thought - this is slick, I'll have it in 10 days or so, if I make it to New York as planned (keep in mind, I'm a month away from the trip) - I'll wear the shirt when I go visit CM HQ. For those in the audience that don't know - this is what's scientifically referred to as 'wishful thinking'... and boy was it ever so.

The week went by, then another and another... I'm sure you get the point. As you can see from my photo with Eric & Adam - there was no CM shirt on me that day, red or any other color, because the "2-6 working days" outfit must of run out of cotton and had to grow some from scratch to make me the bloody shirt (sorry for being so graphic here, but it is a red shirt and I was slightly irritated at getting USSR-service while being far far away from there).

Of course when I got to New York and with all of the drama associated in getting to CM HQ - I broke down and told the guys the t-shirt story. Ok, perhaps I'm overdramatizing it a bit - I didn't 'break down', I just told the guys that their ...

Ok, perhaps I'm overdramatizing it a bit - I didn't 'break down', I just told the guys that their shirt-ordering vendor doesn't work on the same time schedule as CM team does and even though we're now accustomed with major improvements to CM rolled out at mindbending speed (for those in IT - it's nothing short of that, especially considering the staff size), these stormy characters can't even slap a simple design on a ready-to-go shirt, something that by personal experience in the past takes roughly 10 minutes to accomplish (and that includes a smoking break).

Eric told me that heads will roll... (ok, still trying to be dramatic)... he actually said that they'll look into it and that this certainly shouldn't be happening, perhaps they'll look for more proactive vendor.

So, I came back from my New York trip - no shirt. Another week went by and finally today I get it in a padded (slightly) envelope neatly folded in a see-through plastic bag. Didn't have any special fashionable New York style insignia, like DKNY, but it was red and it did have the logo and the name, although not as prominently visible as I'd like, but visible nevertheless and so I was happy. I realized that the BadStorm people made an error... when they said 2-6 days, they meant 2-6 weeks and my shirt came 5 weeks after I ordered it. But, under the "better late then never" category - I'm satisfied.
