That a danger to our national security exists whenever our elected officials are willing to subordinate American interests to those of any foreign nation, and specifically are unwilling to challenge Israel's interests when they conflict with American interests; this policy, evidenced by the failure to defend USS Liberty and the subsequent official cover-up of the Israeli attack, endangers the safety of Americans and the security of the United States.

But you are right, we should trust wikipedia before the silly findings from the "Moorer Commission". That is why most Americans are so much smarter these days, we have wikipedia and can reference everything we need to know from one source, how wonderful! Yes indeed!

The History Channel or maybe it was Discovery channel had a special about this about a year to 18 months ago--they had film and pictures of the damage and body bags, interviewed surviving crew members, interviewed members of the various investigation committees, etc. The ship had intelligence gathering capability (like the Pueblo off Korea) and according to crew members, it was not a case of mistaken identity (the ship should have been easily identified as American)it was a deliberate attack--obviously the Israelis didn't want us to know something, but the SR71 was already flying--so we should have known what was happening anyway.

The government has lots of info, and not all of it is classified military--just talk to ordinary people that live around any government installation west of the Mississippi River--we see and hear things, we have friends & neighbors that work at these installations, suddenly things change around even recreation areas, but never a "good" explanation. This has been going on since 1776--and will continue to go on. Get over it and move on. No one is going to outlive the government.
