ratilfar says: God forbid a shot goes off by mistake. God forbid those gun nuts (primed by irresponsible cable "news") go off. Still don't believe they're using scare tactics? ASSAULT RIFLES!!?? WTF!!! This is why America needs gun control so very desperately It's insane to say the least. I'm about as pro-gun as anybody, but taking an assault weapong out in public for no damn reason is just stupid, and to take one to a town hall meeting does amount to intimidation. OWNING an assault weapon for any reason is just hubris! He was obeying Arizona law, he was carrying it in the open. He was in a public viewing area, away from where the President was talking. A police detective was assigned to watch him all the time. He didn't need a permit in Arizona, because he was publicly carrying. I think the only reason he took the "assault" weapon was to get the anti-gun crowd in an uproar. There were others there with other types of guns. I'd say he succeeded beyond his wildest dreams, just like the guy the other day in New Hampshire that openly wore his pistol in a holster. Intimidating, you bet, but isn't that what the left tried to do while Bush was President? Bullshit! Protest is one thing, trying to intimidate others is quite another. Have ever been in a demonstration. Things can get out of control real fast. Nothing says danger like guns in a crowd. And just because it is legal doesn't mean it is smart. Oh and yeah he had a detective on him, big effing deal. 5.56 m.m. NATO standard rifle versus 9 m.m. standard. This is just insane and inane, especially when you have people encouraging armed insurrection. No, the left didn't try to intimidate people when Bush was president; the Centrists tried to reason with people (America has no real "Left"). They didn't stand outside of where Bush was speaking with a lethal weapon out for everyone to see. The Right are just being selfish bullies, nothing more. |
