merrie says: "Many Americans admire China due to the success of last year’s Beijing Olympics," said Chen. More than 1,000 people will attend the ceremony and the performances held after it, according to Zhao Luqun, who will direct the performances. Zhao said the performances will demonstrate the friendship, magnanimous spirit and kindness of modern Chinese people. A ceremony, indeed, will take place. But it won't happen on the White House grounds -- rather, on the Ellipse, on the other side of E Street from the presidential residence. [Still, Chinese media continued to report it was a state visit even after it was over.] And they continue now to report that the Fujian Association rally will take place on the White House lawn, even though U.S. officials insist it will not. Thanks for the clarification on the report. You read FOX NEWS reports??? some sort of mis-translation. www.chinadaily.com.cn) Merrie, I read all over the spectrum. To be honest, if you asked me which news sources were "liberal," "right wing," etc, I'd really have no idea. I just Clip what fits, unless it's an outside news source that's truly, obviously whackadoodle. Me, too, but primarily I rely on established bloggers that are involved in investigative reporting. Jules Crittenden is my very favorite, b/c he's also an editor at the Boston Herald newspaper. Charles Krauthammer and Andrew C. McCarthy are also top notch op-ed writer/journalists. Thomas Sowell and Walter E. Williams are superb on the economics angle. There are so many more, which there wouldn't be space for here. ......and, yeah, I've even found unbiased reporting at Pravda.ru !!! Thanks for the references! Enjoy wiccantexan |
