Why don't we just end Vietnam II and then we won't have to draft.

Recruiting goals 2007

Army 101%
Navy 101%
Marine Corps 100%
Air Force 100%
Army National Guard 95%
Army Reserve 101%
Navy Reserve 100%
Marine Corps Reserve 110%
Air National Guard 93%
Air Force Reserve 104%

So all active and reserve forces met or exceeded their goals with only the national guard falling short. Why exactly do we need a draft again?

Looks like Hagel is anticipating Shrub launching a 3rd front into Iran.

Which would make military recruiting more like.

Army 101% x 2/3 = 66%
Navy 101% x 2/3 = 66%
Marine Corps 100% x 2/3 = 66%
Air Force 100% x 2/3 = 66%
Army National Guard 95% x 2/3 = 65%
Army Reserve 101% x 2/3 = 66%
Navy Reserve 100% x 2/3 = 66%
Marine Corps Reserve 110% x 2/3 = 66%
Air National Guard 93% x 2/3 = 63%
Air Force Reserve 104% x 2/3 = 67%

Why would anyone enlist? It is public knowledge that the armed forces receive substandard equipment, and should they return home with emotional or physical trauma they are put on waiting lists for treatment.
A draft would end this war. It would serve to mobilize American youth to rally for the end of the war.
