masbury says: TVA officials originally said the cleanup would take four to six weeks. Now they say they aren't sure. Hope somebody's rubbing this under Mr. Blankenship's nose over in West Virginia! Have to be huge repercussions. how exactly do you clean that up? All the contaminated soil that was affected will have to be dug up and disposed somewhere. It's going to cost a bundle! How about this: clean up what is on the roads, fix the sludge containment site where the breech occurred, reimburse owners to clean up vehicles, farm/yard equipment, barns, dead animals (this includes reimbursing farmers for their own animals), and anything that needs to be cleaned. And then let nature take care of the rest (she can do that without our help). This way the costs of cleanup will remain somewhat reasonable. |
