Mind boggling images. Some beautiful examples. I see HDR all over the place now which leads me to ask: Is the HDR technique overused today? I think tone mapping is often overused when making HDR photos. I think HDR is underused for making natural looking pictures. When you go overboard on the tone mapping, the picture no longer looks natural, but it does make for some interesting shots. But I have seen some very wonderful shots that look totally natural but use HDR to keep detail in the shadows without blowing out the highlights. |
