thisnamecantbetaken says: If you are not a part of the solution, you are a part of the problem... Evil thrives when good men do nothing... What does it help you gain the whole world, if you lose your soul? Cowards. Sounds like somebody got called into the principals office. The done deed is enough. The politicians of the two countries now know how their political systems are viewed by the rest of the world. They have been told and have been publicly humiliated. Being off the list will encourage a greater interest in the torture being perpetrated. The only thing that keep[s me going is the fervent hope that the present neo-con government will some day soon be swept into the dustbin of history. Internationally Canada is increasingly perceived to have had major surgery .... spline removal. Correction .... spine removal. Mexico, US, and Canada are working on the North American Union. The present dictators of each country went to school together. They meet on a regular basis to plan their new country they are creating. Then they can torture others with more unity. My cynicism coming out ... are they really "off" the list, or where they just taken off the list? Behind the scenes pressure, handshakes, and lobbying and all that ... Damn! Guess I have to cross Canada off my list of places to move. I like Canadians, but I guess the government there is "going bad" too. Yes. And what would you folks do if you actually lived in really oppressive, nasty, dangerous countries? Thank whatever god you all believe in that you can say publicly what you want without fear of that midnight knock on the door. If it wasn't for the countries regularly slagged off on this site there would be no world, let alone a free one. Grow up, get a life, and have a revolution. If you dare. Foreign Minister Maxime Bernier said he regretted the embarrassment caused by the public disclosure of the manual,The key words here are PUBLIC DISCLOSURE... Have I got this right? If there was no public disclosure, then the USA and Israel would properly remain on the torture list. Now that it was (wrongly?) disclosed that they are on the list, they were taken off the torture list. Is Canada still a democracy? Canada is the closest thing we have to one (democracy). "VANCOUVER - The B.C. Civil Liberties Association is releasing documents it says were sent to government officials, detailing reports of torture against Afghan detainees. The association says the reports leave no doubt that the Canadian government knows that Canadian-transferred detainees endure tourture at the hand of Afghan authorities. The government documents were released as part of court attempts by Amnesty International and the B.C. Civil Liberties Association to stop transfers of prisoners taken by Canadian troops in Afghanistan. Association president Jason Gratl says the denial of the existence of torture in Afghanistan is ... Oh Canada. So very diplomatic. Mik Finn, apparently you have been off in la la Bush land again. Read the Patriot Act, the Military Commisions Act and don't forget to brush up on FEMA. Yes, FEMA. They are poised to strike terror into Americans hearts right here at home. And The North American Union is a VERY real thing. Have you not read PNAC? Wake the hell up! You've been Bushisized! |
