I have no doubt, hence my previous comment. I was wanting to see how thick this thread became with lunacy. Thanks for ruining my fun Arifsali.

I wonder why you chose to have fun as soon as reading this story. I wonder if it could ever be more "lunatic" than the total BS of Torah, Bible and Quran, in which billions of people believe.

Obviously there is a bridge pictured in the photo. The question is if it is a man made or natural bridge. The curvature could suggest man made. A curved bridge would distribute the lateral forces more efficiently. It is like designing an arch or a square. Basic engineering 101. But on the other hand it could have easily been produced by natural forces. In the end it may be very hard to prove or disprove it's actual origins.

I visited Rameshwaram maybe 2 years back.
There's a temple there containing the rocks supposedly used to build the (Adam's) bridge, which don't sink in water, we were allowed to touch them & try to sink them ourselves, they were quite heavy and were kept in a tub of water...

I've always suspected there was a man made bridge between India and Sri Lanka. Since no one else is addressing the 500 pound gorilla in the room.... should we begin praying to Rama now?

Mythology

The names Rama's Bridge and Nala's Bridge originate in Hindu mythology. According to the Hindu epic Ramayana (Chapter 66, The Great Causeway [1]), the bridge was constructed at Rama's request by his subjects. The bridge was supported on floating sand rocks but the gods were said to have later anchored the rocks to the sea bed, thus creating the present chain of rocky shoals. It was said to have helped Rama to reach Sri Lanka to rescue his wife Sita from the demon king (Asura) called Ravana, who was then the ruler of Lanka.

Some Hindu groups claim that the bridge is evidence that events narrated in the Ramayana epic actually took place and cite N...

Wait, wait. First, we are not going back 1.7M years, the mythology itself is not more than 7K years old, max 10K. To press back to 100K years would predate language in humans, making large projects difficult. But this is aside from the point I want to make, which is this. This land bridge could have been exposed in the past, because of sea level declines. The land bridge between Asia and North America is hard to imagine crossing today, but was hundreds of kilometers wide less than 10K years ago, allowing Clovis people into North America. So lets get real, and look at how deep this thing is today, then look at how deep the ocean was there in the last 10K years. Lets suppose it was a passab...

Let's see. I'm a cave man (not that there's anything wrong with that) and I want to cross this big body of water, even though I can't see the other shore cause it's pretty far away, so...

I'm going to take rocks and sand from this side and toss them into the water so I can keep walking across this bridge. Even though rocks are heavy, and once I cross this I'm probably never going back.

Hey you, if you're going to use the land bridge, grab a couple of rocks, and they better be big ones!

If you do a Google Map satellite view, this bridge can be seen quite clearly. Zoom in close to determine for yourself if this looks manmade.

This lie has been going around for a few years now.
To keep it short
-marine geologists and historians have known for years that the two modern countries were part of the same land mass before the sea level rise after the last ice age (~13,000-7,000 yrs ago)...Im sure that any one who really cares enough to research this will find out quite soon. One must be really a liar to ignore this and try and continue justifying their religious superstitions.
-The people of Sri Lanka are genetically identical to the people of South India and share common language and culture (although this can be explained by migration)
-All modern biologists must be wrong about the out of Africa (b/w 100,000 and 40,...

jk... I like the story they came up with for it... but it doesn't look all that man made.

Whether or not the Myth or the reality came first seems to be the question here. We can all plainly see the "bridge" in the photos, and a picture is worth 1000 words. So, how did it get there? I am surprised that no one has mentioned a race of Space Aliens that visited more frequently than they do today... Anyone? LOL! The more we see, the more we come to understand that we know NOTHING about this world we inhabit. We just have theories. And little proofs along the way. Sigh... I personally LIKE being mystified and in awe of something like this. It makes us think!

Harekrishna!Just see the powers of god!It might be the only bridge without any pillars. Also its amazing how stones have been made to float. No body else can do this. This little discovery has certainly turned science and its theories completely on its head.Because now they have evidence of human inhabitation some 1.75 million years ago which is contrary to some cheap findings of science which says that humans came into existence some 40000 years ago.Shame on our scientists who have been cheating public with some incorrect facts.

Sri Lanka is shaped like a giant teardrop falling from the southern tip of the vast Indian subcontinent. It is separated from India by the 50km (31mi) wide Palk Strait, although there is a series of stepping-stone coral islets known as Adam's Bridge that almost form a land bridge between the two countries. The island is just 350km (217mi) long and only 180km (112mi) wide at its broadest, and is about the same size as Ireland, West Virginia or Tasmania.

Adams Bridge is a natural wonder and not to be soiled by the suggestion that man had anything to do with it.

This is for all those persons who are not familiar with the teachings or the scriptures of hinduism .I live in the west indies and I'm of the hindu faith. people of other religious background would condemn our religion, for they say there is no god but Jesus or others say, there is no god but Allah. But here is our scripture which have claim to have knowledge of god's existant on earth, even before Allah or jesus walk the earth more than 5000 years ago or so.That a bridge which Lord rama built along with Lord Hanuman to cross ,to reach lanka, to destroy rawan, is still there for the world to see. How great is our scriptures. When that bridge wae erected, the name Ram, was written on every stone....
