10 million fewer girls were born than expected in the past 20 years[quote/]

That leaves appr. 10 million boys born in that period having no hope of ever having a wife. What about the sexual crime rate? I can only imagine, this would lead to more rapes and such by "desperate" males. It's not looking good, eh?

Well done India!

At this rate, they'll have a male-to-female ratio to match Alaska...

This happens in the Middle East as well as in China.

A body of Chinese poetry, The Book of Songs, believed to date from 1000-700 B.C., offers this advice to new parents:

When a son is born

Let him sleep on the bed,

Clothe him with fine clothes.

And give him jade to play with. ...

When a daughter is born,

Let her sleep on the ground,

Wrap her in common wrappings,

And give her broken tiles for playthings.

This is a terrible issue. Losing women, not only through abortion, but some through botched abortions taking the lives of the mothers too. All those illegal unhygienic abortions have also gotta be causing infertility issues too. A lose/lose/lose situation!

I can't even bear to think about what's going on i China either. I saw a TV prog about how they left female children in ice cold refrigated rooms on concrete floors and just left them there, waiting for them to die from hypothermia... Ah, the cruelty and madness of mankind.

Couldn't the Indian government provide some sor t of economic incentive to promote female births? Some sort of fund or trust that could help put up the dough for the dowries, the female's parents 'have' to pay? Kind of like a college savings funds, that could be in bond and given to the parents to help cover the price of being able to have the girls married off.

The ony 'good' point I can see in all this horror would be, that human overpopulation IS a big problem in the world today so hey, why not just kill off all the females in the whole world and then THAT's quickly not gonna be an issue we're gonna have to face for very much longer if the tren continues. Sheesh! The folly of it all. Depressing.

misogyny, misogynic, misogynous:
1. A hatred of women.
2. In psychiatry, when the hatred of women is part of a morbid mental state, it may be associated with a wide variety of nosologic entities. The most common explanation for the condition has to do with the events of childhood, particularly those relating to the parents.
3. In psychiatry, abhorrence of women that is expressed alike by women and men and is often a reflection of a homosexual conflict.
4. In psychiatry, passive homosexual males may hold women in severe contempt, as a reaction to disappointment with their own masculinity.

And as one can readily see misogyny is ofttimes cultural.

It would serve them right if every female fell off the face of the country and all the men could try to repopulate themselves.

Under the China link:

"By some social scientists' measure, more than 100 million females are now missing from the populations of India and China."

That's 100 MILLION men without a woman!!!...Jeepers!
