In it, he claimed that “There are some folks out there who are, frankly, bearing false witness” about the Dems proposed health care bill. Death Panels? He insisted that it was an “extraordinary lie” to suggest that there would be “death panels” to decide who gets care and who dies. Sarah Palin has already debunked that nonsense and the Senate acknowledged the problem by removing that provision in their version of the bill. And what’s more, we have Obama’s own words in an interview he gave to the New York Times on April 28 in which he discussed end of life care: THE PRESIDENT: So that’s where I think you just get into some very difficult moral issues. But that’s also a huge driver of cost, right? I mean, the chronically ill and those toward the end of their lives are accounting for potentially 80 percent of the total health care bill out here. Tax Payer Funded Abortions? For the best indication of Democrat’s real intentions we look again to the amendments offered by Republicans in the House. Congressman Stupak (R-MI) offered an amendment banning taxpayer funds for abortions. Democrats voted it down.
