Antara says: hmmmm Sounds a bit segregationalist, is there really a need? Integration of cultural groups seems a better option, in Adelaide Sth Australia Vietnamese and Sudanese groups form gangs to chop each other up with machetes, the Chinese have their Triads our best Heart surgeon was killed in street resisting kidnapping,Dr Chang."Come together" right now , John Lennon will always be inspirational to me.We may not agree on global warming but your hmmm makes me think you have reservations on black bird too.I love Firefox. I'll give it a spin and if you never hear from me again, well hmmmm, call the National Guard. . . oh, and adieu Antara, your first instinct was correct. I like Flock better ----there's a few extension, addons, themes that are incompatible, so I wouldn't recommend it. (but it may have potential for improvement.) I am so torn on this issue. Being of a different ethnicity & nationality myself, I certainly understand the wanting to be part of "my own kind" at times, mainly to keep in touch with my heritage. However, I also see that there is so much hypocrisy in this country when it comes to the issue of African-Americans. As I just commented on a Topix forum regarding the possible merger of two HBCs* in Georgia, many of them feel we must be inclusive & have no right to be exclusive for any reason under any circumstances, but we should not expect the same of "them." When is it just going to be "us?" *HBC - Historically Black Colleges & Universities It's not about being part of "your own kind." Give me a break with the alarm - it's called niche marketing and there's nothing wrong with it. Do people point out when search browsers are custom fit for say - "fashion" or "the environment"?? Do people say - "OMG - a serch JUST for green people?! How segregationsit!" It's a lot of alarm over nothing. The entire web is geared towards the majority culture in the United Sates and no one raises a red flag about that. This is just a place that makes it easier for black folx to find the content they're most likely to be looking for anyway. What's the big deal? If there was a "Rainbow" browser for the GLBT community, a "Sushi" browser for Asians, a "... I was of the impression that add-ons and other user-modifiable features could sufficiently customize one`s browser. What would it turn up that google would not? |
