McCain and Palin would have more credibility on Ayers if they agreed that their own past associations influence their actions today. But they don't. Because they know what a huge load of malarkey it is. That's what's turns people off about them.

Practically every adult has interacted with someone who has a less than stellar history. We know good and well that knowing someone and being that person are two different things.

I always said that I would vote for Colin Powell for president. Well--I have changed my mind! Powell switching parties and dropping everything that he stands for to endorse Obama just tells me one thing. Powell is racist. It does not matter to him what Obama stands for. He is black. So sad that people in this country, black and white can not look beyond skin at a persons morals, honesty and ideals.
Powell just lost ALL of my respect. I hope his political career is over!

I've been told that people would point to racism as a reason for Powell's endorsement of Obama. With Colon Powell we have an intelligent military officer who looked closely at both candidates over a long period of time....who is a friend of McCain....who is the author of the "Powell Doctrine" of using overwhelming force and an exit strategy. To suggest that he would all of a sudden become a racist is just plain stupid. He explained in depth his reasoning behind his endorsement. One of his main points was McCain's selection of Sarah Palin as VP. This selection was so political that McCain should be ashamed of himself. I don't understand how McCain can do his stump speeches in front of that si...

There is NO way he could care about being republican and vote for Obama. The difference is too great. He has had a job since the Reagan days. Strange that he all of a sudden now decides now to switch! This seems to be either about race , him wanting a job, or both.
By the way Palin is VP and she has more experience than Obama who is up for pres. You just don't like her delivery, but inside I believe she is one smart lady. Think goodness Obama has a good VP,because he is going to need help.

Being Republican does not necessarily mean being stupid. Colin Powell gave a long and intelligent reason for coming out for Barak Obama. It has nothing to do with switching from Republican to Democrat It has nothing to do with him needing a job. It has nothing to do with his being a racist. Most of us patriotic Americans are pretty damn tired of stupid Republicans coming up with the same tired old excuses for an intelligent analysis of reality. Give it up! We've all had enough!

Forget it. It is all about loyalty to the tribe. No way could a former Undersecretary of the Navy under Reagan become a Democratic senator for Virginia, or a former General who was the top commander of Central Command come out with the top technothriller writer and say point blank that Iraq was stupid. Or for that matter the top General in Iraq saying badly the Bush administration.

It has to be about race. No Republican would defy the party even when the party is dead wrong 110%.

Not to mention the respect due to anyone wearing the uniform (past or present) except when they don't follow the script. Nope once they stop being props for the party they loose all value.

You can lie, cheat and steal, but though shall not challenge the Party. Remember that the Party is the State and the State is the people.

Sounds like 1984.... War is Peace, Love is Hate...etc etc.

McCain is using the Rovian playbook.....it worked once....it worked twice....why not three times!

When the hell is this country going to stop being so stupid!

Hopefully on Nov. 4th!

schreibe if you think this is not about race or Powell getting a job( which has already been offered) then you are living in a dream world. The truth is the truth.

Just because you say it is the truth does not make it so.

What kind of defense of your position is that?
