Why is this of interest to conservatism? Well, it just so happens this bill creates a whole new government agency (seperate from the USDA) to enforce compliance in food safety. The statists are on the move you see. Secondly, most (but not all) people who are into organic gardening, organic food, are well, lets face it, liberals, and I just have to point out that EVERY SINGLE POLITICIAN WHO SIGNED ON TO THIS BILL IS A DEMOCRAT.
