The literal interpretation of the Bible as word of God has originated most of the religious problems in modern civilization, and created many atheists. Atheists are right when they do not accept the God in some readings of the Bible, particularly of the Old Testament; I do not believe in that “god” either, but I believe in God! The real One recognized even by Gnostics and atheists. See the book.

Maybe this is the reason:

If that were true there wouldn't be any doubts, nor a billion Muslims. But then if it were the word of god to begin with... it wouldn't have been written by man. Doesn't god know how to write?
