Good on the students but the tear gas also tells them a lot. Protesters are not doing so well at the moment. Even the French students have been quiet.

I think the tear gas might be the truth finally revealed to them.

Think the students had an understanding of the truth before they protested. Possibly not germane, but the report suggests that the tear gas was fired when the protesting students and a rival group began exchanging blows. The rival militia group were protesting against the students' protest!

Iranian students staged a noisy protest against President Ahmadinejad
yesterday when he arrived at Tehran University to give a speech marking the
start of the academic year.

anti-Ahmadinejad slogans, clashed with pro-government militia and made
public a highly critical letter addressed to the Iranian leader.
