Remember, they were busted because Sikeston is in the Bible belt, even though the family is Catholic and their son graduated from a Catholic h.s. Apparently the problem is that their not Republican Catholics ! Scott county officeholders are nearly 100% Democrat as are Sikeston city officeholders. Most likely, had nothing to do with politics, but religious intolerance. As I stated in the original clip--if the family had lived in Cape Girardeau county where the Catholic H.S. is located--the neighbors would not have bothered to call the police, they would not have had to get a permit for noise--Cape Girardeau county is heavily German Catholic or German Lutheran--so the neighbors probably would have ignored it--knowing a son graduated from high school--what I was trying to clip was that they lived too far south--in the Bible belt and if MO. laws allowed it, the county would be a dry county because o... Oh, yes, this comment by jt3600 made me remember I had not clipped the end result of this arrest. It is in the newest clips on August 21, 2008. It was finally settled Jan. 31, 2008. Mo. alcohol laws are some of the most liberal in the U.S., probably only Nevada & Louisiana are more liberal. |
