Something nobody thinks about is the fact that our brains operate in our bodies at 1g. In space they operate in much less but its always a short time before they land and return to 1g again. Mars mass is less than Earth. You can simulate Earths atmosphere and pressures in a suit or a cabin on Mars but you can't simulate Earth's gravity on the body.
With less gravity our bodies will be lighter and the blood to the brain will increase because it won't have as much gravity resisting it. Our brains will 'lift' slightly which could cause long term changes in our thought processes. It may be a death sentence or it may be impossible to return to Earth gravity because our bodies adjusted over time to the change in gravity.
