This goes along with divorce and teen pregnancy rates being higher in bible-belt and red states. Family values, indeed.

Well,
Both my girls were raised in a Catholic school, but I had talks with them early on and they could always talk to me about anything. They drove their teachers crazy always questioning doctrine.

I once asked why there were two different stories of creation in Genesis, and it blew the poor nun's veil right off (and got me sent to the principal's office).

Good for u Jorjor

I once asked my catechism teacher the concept of purgatory and we had like 6 classes about it afterwards with me quizzing the teacher non-stop and my cousin and his gang met me outside and threatened to beat me up if I didn't stop

Questioning things that are given to you as absolutes is a good thing. I was well-served by a youth pastor in my parents' Pentecostal church who encouraged me to question what I was taught, to question what other people claimed was God's Word and God's Will, and to examine other beliefs before I made personal judgements on them. That man did me, and many of the other kids in that church the greatest favour anyone could ever give us in not just mindlessly swallowing what religions told us and about applying both common sense and faith to every day life.

Thank-you Rev. Paulson.
