ekorstanje says: Watch the graph in 2001, interesting Amazing that, adjusting for inflation, we're still not near the amount we paid in the late 70's Well I was alive in the seventies and I remember you could support a family on one income. Today, you cannot it takes two incomes. Food prices are higher, gas prices, medical costs are through the roof. If the costs of living keep going up with no check or freeze from time to time, then the standard of living for every american will decline. Were you awake in the 70s? I remember one income was usually the only choice because of rampant unemployment. I also remember double digit inflation and the creation of the misery index to judge just how miserable people were. FACT: In "TWELVE" again, in 12 years of Republican Control of Congress gas prices rose 215% with no adjustment for inflation. FACT: Right now under a DEMOCRAT led Congress gasoline prices in the US average $4.16 a gallon. FACT: Since the DEMOCRATs took over both hou... |
