At least that is democracy, ruling the people BY the people!!! The Republican'ts have made America into a nation that is governed by the rich, for the rich, at the expense of the Middle Class, with the poor just being entirely swept out of the equation, and Democrats have done precious little to stop them from doing that. There will be no democracy in the US until lobbyists and corporations are cut off from the government, and the only ones who have the ears of the politicians are the private citizens that voted them in to represent them. Campaign Finance Laws need to be overhauled, so politicians can't be propped up by corporate donations to their election funds, and much stricter controls being applied to non-monetary "gifts" from agents of corporati... |
