I know BB, but to admit they were wrong here means that they have to admit that their whole world view was/is wrong. And they can't afford to do that.

This torture business gives our society's predators something "legal" to do. Our prisons are already too full of "criminals" who have been convicted of non-violent, victimless crimes. The predators also get the job of doing society's dirty work, especially that of "the great, gray man, whose daughter licks policemen's buttons clean".

You'd think that our best would be put into office to run our country, but it is pretty sad when Joe Blows like us, sitting behind our computers, can see what the truth for what it is.

There are only 2 conclusions. There are some pig ignorant people in high places (tempting to believe) or our government is filled with unscrupulous people that ignore truth and rationality (having no interest in it) in order to pursue their own personal goals.
