Media tell Palin "you've got to quit making things up," but millions believe her anyway - 75% of FoxNews viewers.

They don't want to know the truth. So long as the GOP can say some ridiculous drivel and have people nod their heads in agreement they don't care if its true or not. And some people are just so pig ignorant that they don't want to hear the truth, they just want someone to tell them something they want to hear.

Is this the power of the internet? You can find what you want to hear and believe.

As long as you listen to Fox News and have an internet connection your beliefs are confirmed.

Everyone commenting states that the Republicans are pushing the death panels, that's what all the protesting is about. I still think it all goes back to the money--tax money. Only people making more than $250,000 will have to pay for it, large corporations, making small businesses cover there employees, get real. These protests are about the tax money, the protesters know that it is just more taxpayer money down a rat hole with little accountability and waste and fraud in abundance.

The lack of hearing goes both ways. If you are wrong with universal health care, the consequences are severe. Why not listen a little more and then make your conclusions rather then accuse people in their fears?

American exceptionalism. We are always right.

Disregard the fact that every other industrialized nation on the planet has a form of universal health care. We are Americans and we are right.

Paying twice as much for health services than the next highest industrialized nation is severe.

I think America has listened enough for the last few decades about health care. As the prices keep raising and more and more of the elite are getting quality care while more and more impoverished are getting only emergency stop gap care (that usually completely bankrupts them for it) its safe to assume that the nay sayers really have nothing more to offer or they would have. Something a bit more than "no" or "it will fail" is in order.

In fact, if universal health care has any problems then you can lay the real blame on those that worked to stymie any progress in that area rather on those who work to improve it.

(CNSNews.com) - Senate Commerce Chairman John D. Rockefeller (D-W.V.) told CNSNews.com that America needs a government-run health insurance provider that does not need to make a profit and that will compete with private health insurance companies because private insurance company profits have increased by 400 percent since 2001.

PROFIT......????God forbid......from the mouth of a filthy rich ROCKERFELLER...........wonder where he got his money........recycling beer bottles???????????

Satchamo - your private premiums are expected to nearly double by 2010 unless serious reform is enacted. 31% of your premiums fund insurance company overhead - many times that of Medicare. And Medicare gets higher satisfaction marks from its customers than employer sponsored plans do.

I fear you're just repeating a mantra than Republican leaders and the industry very much want you to repeat. Cutting the profiteering out of the equation with a public option is the biggest single health cost savings on the table. Medicare works well - proof that it can be done. Why wring our hands and wail at government?
