This is sure to raise a bunch of moral questions, but as a scientific breakthrough it is a remarkable feat.

See, I'm pretty conservative, but I still don't see how this specific use of the technology is a moral dilemma. It's actually not that different from anything the medical field does for patients--it's preventing a potential illness.

Now as for people who want to select the physical attributes their child will have, I think that's just silly. Half the fun of havin' a baby is seeing what kind of person you made. Just don't have babies with unattractive people and you won't have to worry about 'em bein' ugly.

I would make a monster baby and go on tour with it...

His stage name would be "TRIPLE THREAT"
See the 3 eyed baby with 3 legs, 3 arms and 3 heads

You just keep confessing to being "logged in" as her every once in awhile to throw us off track, don't you?

Oh "she" is going to be really upset with you for doubting her existence.

Yeah, well, you would never hurt me (admit it, you wouldn't), and she's at the very least not mean enough to hurt me, and at best NOT REAL. I'm not scared.

I agree with KJo o this. If we can modify the DNA to prevent disease and provide a healthy life for a new baby then why not. What if the new baby could live their entire life without the need for healthcare. What if all new generations could live healthy and happy lives. That would be progress.

The only thing I suppose that makes me think a bit more is the one episode of TNG. Yeah - I have to refer to sci-fi here. Simply because the episode had this lab where they created children with super DNA that could protect them, in fact their immune system was intelligent and would modify if new threat ever came about. So what happen was they were visted by someone who had a flu syptom and wel...

Thanks for that enlightening bit of fiction, dear . Many life lessons can be learned from TNG. I won't lie, I watch it....in fact just the other day I was flippin' between that and the rodeo.

Watching the rodeo? No fun -- have to be in it -- after all it's.......

Well, it's bulls and blood
It's dust and mud
It's the roar of a Sunday crowd
It's the white in the knuckles
The gold in the buckle
He'll win the next go 'round

BTW -- that is some combination to be watching...TNG and the Rodeo.... I love it....

It's boots and chaps,
It's cowboy hats...
It's the ropes and the reigns
And the joy and the pain,
And they call the thing a rodeo...
It's the broncs and the blood
The steers and the mud,
And they call the thing a rodeoooooo

I love me some Garth--got that cassette tape (Ropin' the Wind) when I was in elementary school and listened to it till it broke.

Yeah, I try to mix it up. You should see my music collection...
