merrie says:
And the “Congressional White Caucus” won’t jump to defend Sen. Stevens the way the Congressional Black Caucus did for William
Jefferson.

Why? Because Sen. Stevens’ actions — just like those of Sen. Jefferson — are indefensible.

Oh, and the fact that there isn’t anything as absurdly segregationist and just plain absurd as a Congressional White Caucus.

________

With the possible exception of Rep. John Culberson (R-TX), Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK), Sen. Jim Demint (R-SC), and Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CN) — I think we should expel every other member of Congress and start over with people of honest and integrity…but more than that, people who don’t think my money is their money. Leaders committed to truly small and limited government.

Sadly, our country is headed in exactly the opposite direction.

Unlike Rep. William “Cold Cash” Jefferson (D-LA), Sen. Stevens will be
pressured to resign by his party. Unlike Rep. Jefferson, Sen. Stevens will resign.
What makes you so sure? Sure, person for person , I will agree that Republicans are far more decent and expect more from themselves, but they are party hacks just like the Dems. I hope they do force him to resign but I wouldn't count on it.

I would add to the list of ethical members of Congress,
Jeff Flake, Jeff Sessions, James Inhofe, Duncan Hunter,
and Peter Hoekstra to mention a few.

With the November election coming up, they should put
that "oinker" on his "bridge to nowhere" after his September investigation.

If you're correct, that the Dems don't deal as severely with their own regarding ethics violations, it's a good thing to say and I'm glad you're turning the lights on it.

Porkers in Washington who think of our money as their
money, need to be voted out, in fact I'd love to see states
enact term-limits.

Congressional White Caucus.
There is no "Congressional White Caucus" because Congress is 92% white. Whites are the majority population in this country, remember?

In all of US history, there has been a total of only 125 elected representatives and senators who were black. Twenty-nine served during Reconstruction (all Republicans); the rest have served in the modern era (all Democrats).

Today, there are only 40 black US Representatives (Wow! 11 more than in 1898! What progress!) and 1 black Senator. While blacks are 13% of the population, blacks hold only 7% of the seats in Congress. If Congress reflected the public, there would be 60 black representatives and 13 bla...

Maybe they should not focus on running because they are black and focus on running because of their values. JC Watts won twice in in a district that is over 90% white. That is progress.

Willie, you're blocked. I'm not interested in what you have to say. All I can see is that you responded immediately after me, and I'm sure it was brilliant and insightful, but I'm so very not interested. Save it for someone who cares.

I am not commenting to you, dulios. I throw my 2 cents in where ever I want. If you don't want to read it, then be my guest. I am quite well aware of how idiots like you go through life. No loss to me. I do not comment to persuade the lost. So, save your narcissism for someone who cares.

Here is a clue...If my comment is directed at you, then I will address you by name.

Hmm, another comment from willhelm after mine that I can't see and refuse to read. Is it possible that he still hasn't gotten the point? He fancies himself a bright fellow, but doesn't seem to get it when a woman tells him to buzz off. Interesting.

Bye now!

BM, you're new here, so I'll let you in on a little something. I'll debate anything with anyone who has anything worthwhile to add. I'm not interested in personal attacks or name-callling, and willie is the master.

And your comment was right up there - a personal attack, not a debate about the merits of my argument. Well done.

Your argument? Will commented on the thread. It was you who chose to blindly assume that he was responding to you.

AND I QUOTE:

"Willie, you're blocked. I'm not interested in what you have to say."

My comment was in reference to your having "blocked" his comments but responding to his post sight unseen assuming he was responding to you. For your edification (and since you can't see his comment), he wasn't responding to you.

If you are truly not interested in what he had to say, why post again on this thread at all? Just to announce that you have "blocked" him? That was the substance of your comment.

There was no response to the merits of what anyone else had posted, so you only...

Willie has personally attacked me throughout my time at clipmarks and called me reprehensible names. As I said, you're new here, and may not be aware of his history. He degrades my experience here and that's why I ignore him. That doesn't make me a troll and it doesn't make me rude. It's my right.

Then... quietly go about blocking him. But don't rub his face in the "blocking" and proclaim victimhood...

Where have I called you "reprehensible" names?
Where have I personally "attacked" you?

You are a liar!

The only reason you continue to say you block me is because you cannot debate issues, which you have proven. It makes you feel powerful to hit and run away. You are a petty toll and coward. Such is the need for the totalitarian mindset of the ignorant progressive.
