Notice that the church didn't even consider excommunicating the step-father! The step-father rapes a 9 year old girl, but that doesn't make you a bad Catholic. What do you expect from this church, they don't excommunicate their pedophile priests either.

I'm not pro gratuitous abortions. I do however believe they are necessary under certain circumstances, and this is definitely one of them. Poor little mite.

As for excommunication. In the big scheme of things all excommunication is is banishment from a man-made organisation. Thankfully Christians don't need a church as an intermediary between God and man because Christ fills that role and our relationship is with Him and not an organisation.

Nevertheless, in the spirit of fairness, I hope the Catholic Church excommunicates the perpetrator of this crime.

I don't think a 9-year-old's body is able to safely carry a pregnancy, especially not twins! Sad, sad, sad.

Yes, an all round horrific case.

*tears*

This is an example of why we must be vigilant against religious extremists, no matter the faith.

Notice that in the other case, a pregnant 11-year old girl raped by her stepfather will not get an abortion: related to the ex-communications? Would be interesting to know.

"This is an example of why we must be vigilant against religious extremists, no matter the faith"

What the does that mean exactly?
What is the 'example' you are referring to?
What precisely are you suggesting people be 'vigilant' of?
Moreover, as an atheist, what concern is it of yours if one Christian excommunicates another?
But most of all, what does that statement have to do with the rape of this child?

You have used this this clip to gutter snipe at Christians. So, I think we must be vigilant against the religion of atheist-extremists such as yourself, zizzy, who are so blinded by their hatred of Christians that they get more affronted and indignant over an excommunication than a rap...

michellezm, note "no matter what the faith." The comment, IMHO, is not targeted at Christians.

The reason a non-Christian would care about this is that excommunication can be a powerful tool against lawmakers who would then hesitate to support or pass legislation that might get them personally in trouble. That affects all of us.

@wiccantexan - your response to michellzm is close enough to what I am thinking that no further response from me is necessary.

You've been targeted by a spammer. Something strange though: I'm receiving email spam comments on this clip, but I don't see them here. The first at 2:00 p.m., the latest at 4:27 p.m ( 5 spam comments at 4:27, now more at 4:32 and 4:33).

Spammer's username is a variation on a theme: effadfff's, eecefbabae's, dcabdfafb', etc.

zizzy,

this often happens to clips when they move to the popular clips list

John, could you please explain to me what you and zizzy are talking about because I don't understand. Thanks.

I contacted support and asked if something could be done. Now that I know this, I think that I might not be the first clipper to email about this problem.

Michelle, they are referring to the spam comments that popular clips (many pops or many comments) seem to be assaulted with.

That's right. A while ago a number of clips were attacked by a large number of spam comments. These appeared as soon as the clip became popular. Now if a clip shows on the popular clips list you may find that when you check for recent activity on your clips that it has received such spamming. However the clipdaddies seem to have found a way to prevent these comments from actually showing on the clip itself.
